It is amazing how much pain one can endure before making the decision
to go to the dentist. And when the time comes to treat the pain, Dr.
Stephen Leafe has a very good reason to extend compassion to each of his
patients. When asked what drives his compassion for his patients and his
passion for dentistry, Dr. Leaf, DDS responds, "I and my dental
hygienist are both healed dental phobes. We understand how many new
patients come into our office very fearfull of what is going to happen
to them, and it is our top priority to give them a pain-free
experience."
Dr. Leafe, at Alpharetta Family and Cosmetic Dental Care, continues
to be one of North Fulton's leading dentists utilizing the most advanced
dental care technology that results in far less discomfort and better
results.
Waterlase Dentistry, often referred to as no pain, no shot, no drill
dentistry, has enabled Dr. Leafe to use laser energy and a gentle spray
of water to perform a wide range of dental procedures - without the
heat, vibration and pressure associated with the dental drill. With many
procedures, it's possible to use less anesthetic, and often no
anesthetic at all. Dr. Leafe says, "Laser dentistry results in less pain
and fewer post-operative complications. When I call my patients the next
evening, they report very little discomfort, if any." S. Pruitt says,
"After having laser dentistry with Waterlase, I would never want to have
another procedure done with conventional drills, knives, sutures, etc -
there's no need for it."
One of the most rewarding aspects of Dr. Leafe's dental career has
been watching the transformation in an individual's personality, just by
changing their smile. Aesthetic dentistry refers to dental treatments
designed to enhance the smile and correct chipped, cracked, discolored,
and unevenly spaced teeth. From porcelain veneers to tooth-colored
fillings, patients can choose from a variety of cosmetic solutions to
restore the health and vitality of their smiles. Dr. Leafe says, "As you
see an individual's smile change, you see their self-concept change, and
that is a great reward for the investment in training and technology."
Dr. Stephen Leafe is a graduate of
Marquette
Dental School. He stays current on the latest techniques and
technologies in dentistry through his participation in
The American Dental
Association, The
American Academy for Cosmetic Dentistry and the
Georgia Dental
Association. Dr. Leafe also studied at the prestigious
Las Vegas Institute
for Advanced Dental Studies, where he learned the art of aesthetic
dentistry, and at
Biolase University, where he learned the latest techniques of laser
dentistry. He now helps other doctors learn the art of laser dentistry.
